In this paper, the subdomain analysis model of eddy current brake (ECB) is established. By comparing with finite element method, accuracies and are verified. Furthermore, resistance characteristics radial, axial, Halbach arrays under impact load calculated compared. The axial array has a large braking force coefficient but low critical velocity. radial high advantages first two arrays. Not only large, also speed high. parameter further carried out. inner tube thickness air gap length sensitive factors characteristics. demagnetization effect significantly enhanced by increase thickness. order to ensure that ECB does not overheat, electromagnetic-thermal coupling established based on heat transfer theory. temperature rise obvious while permanent magnet small. more than 20 K each time, less 1 time.
