In this paper, the subdomain analysis model of eddy current brake (ECB) is established. By comparing with finite element method, accuracies and are verified. Furthermore, resistance characteristics radial, axial, Halbach arrays under impact load calculated compared. The axial array has a large braking force coefficient but low critical velocity. radial high advantages first two arrays.
